About Me

I worked 13 years in Vancouver and Toronto as a Vice-President in the financial services industry.  Through all those years, however, I yearned to be involved with work that I love – taking care of animals and seeing to it that they get the love and care they deserve!  In fact, for over six years of my financial services career in Vancouver, I ran a cat sitting business on the side called “Cat Sit”.

Some time ago, I bit the bullet, left the financial services industry, and have now happily made the transition from high-powered executive to high-powered pet companion! 

I bring the same professionalism and dedication to the pet business that I gave to the financial services industry – but I have to admit that the rewards in the pet business are much greater.

Part of my transition has involved serious retraining, and over the past couple of years these preparations have included:

• a year long volunteer stint of fostering, transporting and rescuing dogs through a local dog rescue group

• certifying in Pet First Aid through Oakland Educational Services

• becoming a member and affiliate of the “Professional Dog Walkers Association”

• joining the “All Canadian Pet Sitters Network”

• working with a well-known local professional dog trainer, who will act as a consultant, in the rare event it should be needed.

• qualifying to be “Bonded & Insured” so that you can feel comfortable and confident in my services

• taking the time to familiarize myself not only with all things ‘doggy’, but also getting to know the best and most pet-friendly parks in town
